Does your website have what it takes? (If not, we can help.)

Having a website can be an important tool in starting up or growing your business. What is important to realize is that having an unattractive or poorly built site will do more to hurt your business than to help it. When it comes to designing a website, there are a lot of things to keep in mind. This article will describe some of the most important aspects of a successful website.

Branded Appearance

Your website may be the first, and only, impression a potential customer receives of your company. A site must be visually appealing, polished and professional. Also, people like to spend time on sites that are visually stimulating. Colors, images, and fonts must all be considered.

Talk “About Us”

The “About Us” page should tell users who you are and what you do. This is especially important for small businesses. This page will allow you to share your company philosophy and special skills, just try to keep the message short and to the point.

Easy to Contact

Customers do not want to have to search for your contact information. Throughout your site, “Contact Us” links should be highly visible. Your customer will appreciate being able to send an immediate email or make a quick call to the office. The key is to make it highly visible.

Clear and thought out Navigation

Navigation does not need to be complicated. Websites should be easy to identify and easy to use. The easier it is for people to use and navigate throughout your site, the longer they are likely to interact with it. Choosing tabs and buttons that are simple, visible, and clearly indicate their destination are vital.

Content with Substance

Your site must have substance along with style. Your audience is looking for information that will help them make a decision or answer a question. Keep copy short and organized and remember that you have less than ten seconds to hook your customer. Your message must be up to date, clear, and concise.

Purposeful Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Search engine optimization is a methodology of strategies, techniques and tactics used to increase the number of visitors to a website by obtaining a high-ranking placement in the search results page of search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo. When thinking about search engine optimization, it can be a little overwhelming. We can make sure you are doing everything possible to help drive visitors to your website.
