Making Your Business Event Memorable. Important Tips and Tricks.
Let’s be real for a moment. We have all been to an amazing party that sent us home smiling and full of great memories, but have you ever attended an event that left you feeling a little disappointed? Perhaps the energy in the room was off or the band only played dull elevator music. Whatever the case was, you just knew that something wasn’t right. Let’s dive into the world of party planning for a moment and consider what really makes an event memorable… in a good way of course.
Set the mood.
Delight your guests by setting the scene. Are you envisioning a fun and exciting event, or perhaps something classy and regal? I always like to say that the secret is in the details. Things to always consider include lighting, music, and décor. These are all important aspects that will help create the mood you are looking for.
Choose the venue wisely.
An event space must compliment the number of your guests. Having an event in a room that is too big will make your party seem cold and impersonal. On the other hand, having an event in a room that is too small will make your guests feel cramped and uncomfortable. It’s important to map out how much space you are going to need and then find a venue that will add value to your event.
Plan a great menu.
My son just turned 9, and of course he wanted a baseball themed birthday party. Well, when we go to a baseball game we love indulging in all the tasty ball park food, so that’s exactly what we decided to go with. From the nachos, warm pretzels, pizza, and cracker jacks everyone raved over the tasty treats. Yes, I know that most of you are not planning a party around baseball, but at least you get the idea. Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box.
Gifts are always nice.
This is not a requirement, but guests really do appreciate a little swag bag. These could be chocolates from your local bakery or perhaps a wine glass or photo frame with your logo on it. The point is, people like presents, so try to leave a little wiggle room in your budget for an unexpected treat.
At the end of the day, everyone just wants their guests to be happy. They may not remember what color linens were on the tables, but they will remember how you made them feel. Taking the time to coordinate the details will ensure that your guests will have a great time.
